Put simply, this forum is created to be a place to promote and discuss the music of the Dutch musician, Bertolf Lentink, an artist who just released a debut solo album called For Life in January 2009.
Bertolf is an outstanding musician who has energized many fans in his native Netherlands but who is already gaining fame internationally in places like the UK, Japan, Hungary and the United States.
At one of Bertolf's YouTubes, a fan remarked that he'd like to get in contact with other Bertolf fans. That sounded great, but I looked around for a forum in the English language and could find none. The best site I could find for other fans was the fanpage at Hyves. I thought that it would be a good thing to have an English-language forum where fans from all over can meet and where my good friends in the Netherlands could pass along information to those of us who don't speak Dutch.
I am a fan from the United States. In June 2008, I was given (for my birthday) the Live In Amsterdam CD by Ilse DeLange. I loved the performances. On this album, there was a cover of "Sister Golden Hair" which I found out was sung by someone named Bertolf Lentink.
I looked up his music eventually and discovered that he had decided to leave the band of Ilse DeLange and embark on a solo career. I found his MySpace sites and liked the songs that I heard there. I became a fan and awaited the release of For Life. When it came out, I was greatly impressed with the songwriting, the playing, the singing and the studio production qualities of the album. I believe the great big wide world is ready to hear some great music: the music of this outstanding musician from Zwolle, NL.
I created this forum today with the hope that it will help other fans.
