How did you discover the music of Bertolf? Here's how I did: I have a great friend in the Netherlands named Cynthia who turned me on to the music of Ilse DeLange. I really enjoyed her blend of country, rock and pop. I slowly built up my CD collection with a lot help from my friend. On my birthday in 2008, Cynthia sent me the Live in Amsterdam CD by Ilse. I listened to cover of the America song "Sister Golden Hair", and thought that Ilse had a guest star singing a duet - much like she did with Kane on "Before You Let Me Go". I really thought Bertolf sang well, so I started trying to find more of his music. I found out that he was a bandmember with Ilse, but I also discovered the music of the Junes and thought that it was fantastic. Then I discovered Bertolf's MySpace site and heard tracks like "For My Blue". I really like the sound of his music. I was a kid when the Beatles broke up but listened to the radio during the time in which the members of the Beatles were doing their solo work. I became a Beatles fanatic later on, I would say. I also grew up with a love of Brit-pop and also country-influenced rock (bands like the Eagles, America). I also grew up loving the great harmonies of the Beach Boys. I discovered that Bertolf is a big fan of the Beatles, together and solo, but he also has some American roots music in his blood too. I began doing lots of searches on Google! With this board, I am hoping to make it easier for others to discover the music!
