Hello everyone,
I'd like to start this topic about "The Man from Roxette", Mister Per Gessle. He's the leadsinger and writer of both international Roxette and Swedish Gyllene Tider. He also has several solo albums out. The latest one being "Party Crasher".
I have been to his gig on Amsterdam on May 6th this year and WOW what a surprise when Marie joined Per for two songs!
I had video's on youtube, but the audio sucked! Thanks to DutchTaper Joost, I got better audio files and am using them to dub my video's with. Here are the two songs with Marie and Per together! Hope you like my sync edit...

Cynni! ;D Thank you for the uploads using the new audio. It was a great moment to see Marie join Per on stage, especially considering the long dark road she has had to travel in recent years as a survivor of cancer.
As you know, Cynni, I am also a big fan of Per Gessle! Per is an incredible songwriter, a student of pop music and, like Bertolf, a big fan of the Beatles. Per makes the most of his voice; he sings in high voice, well USUALLY.
;D
Per has had success in a number of creative ventures. Most people know Roxette, but many don't know about his membership in Gyllene Tider, a band often referred to as a type of "Beach Boys of Sweden":
I like to think that one day Bertolf will have crowds like this in the Netherlands! ;D
I try to tell everyone I can about the Son of a Plumber album. It's fantastic!

Thanks so much, Cynni, for sharing the Melkweg experience! ;D I still think that Son of a Plumber album is a masterpiece! It's such a shame that it wasn't released in more countries outside Sweden. The music from the album can be heard here: www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=18479BB41DB597CFI think it's interesting how Per decided to divide the album into two separate discs (even though the songs would have all fit onto one CD), simply because he wanted to recreate the sense of the early 1970's and having to take a break to turn the LP over to the other side. You still can watch the EPK here: www.sonofaplumber.com/movies/plumber_medq.html"Jo-Anna Says" certainly has that 'Beatles aura' that I enjoy so much (and which I often feel in the music of Bertolf, too):

Thanks, Cynni, for taking the time to write about the concert. I enjoyed reading it. It's so great that you got to meet all the band - even hold Christoffer's beer *lol* That's soooo cool what Helena did for you during the concert after reading your sign, hihi. She so talented as a vocalist, but also a real sweetie.

Hihi and now you've got your birthday prezzie, we can also say it was nice what Per did for us/you after the gig as well Yes, I got a Party Crasher t-shirt that Per Gessle signed " Happy B-Day, P.G." at the concert at the Melkweg in May. One of the great pop songwriters of our time: millions of records sold and 4 number ones in the U.S. where it's not not that easy for Swedes to break in. Thanks, Cynni!

I found some pretty good YouTubes of performances from the Party Crasher Tour this summer: Hey Mr. DJ HQLate, Later On HQDoesn't Make Sense HQI keep thinking that Guido and Bertolf should go up to the Aerosol Grey Machine studio in Southern Sweden and work with Christoffer Lundquist. The guy loves the Beatles, plays banjo and dobro, and has a great recording environment. This tune by Florian Horwath and Nina Persson (Cardigans) was recorded and produced at the Aerosol Grey Machine studios: HQHere's Christoffer working on Luke Jackson's album ...And Then Some: HQAnd here's Per, Helena Christoffer, and Clarence performing one of Per's hit Swedish-language songs "Tycker Om När du Tar På Mej" at the studio: HQHere's another example of the creativity and sonic beauty achieved in that studio - a song called "Making Love or Expecting Rain": HQ

Another clip of the Luke Jackson recording session at AGM. The cat is very encouraging! HQA group in Sweden called "The Men" recorded @agm: I've never been a fan of a studio before!
