Bertolf posted a blog on June 1 with some exciting announcements and bits of interesting information. This is what I understand (from TRYING to translate from the Dutch language . If there is anything incorrect, let me know so I can fix it. I'm doing my best, but I would appreciate help in posting news, since I have language limitations).
Here's what Bertolf reported (in part) in the blog:
Bertolf gave an explanation of the two new gadgets on his Hyves page (www.bertolf.hyves.nl):
The song “Welcome the Sun” Bertolf wrote with Stevie Ann and it’s in a commercial for Wieckse Witte that will be playing on television starting 1 June. The song was produced by Bas Kennis of BLØF, and Bertolf also sings and plays on it.
In addition, you won’t want to miss the recently-released debut of Miss Montreal. It includes a song that Sanne and Bertolf wrote together a year or two ago when they had formed the illustrious duo Kiss the Girl.
Included in songs from other people is also a song from the forthcoming album from VanVelzen called “Another Side of Me” that Bertolf wrote with Han Kooreneef.
As Bertolf told us already, he was in London in order to write songs for album number two. That was a very fruitful trip. He has written with Jez Ashurst, with whom he also wrote for the album the songs “Mr. Light” and “All In The Letter”. Nate Campany also joined them for a while one day. He is an American whose songwriting includes (among others, but not the least!) the Ilse DeLange songs “So Incredible” and “Puzzle Me”.
Eventually this resulted in three songs in four days: “Snakes and Ladders”, “Fortune Changes Overnight”, and “All the Love You Leave Behind”.
Then, the new single: for some time it had been well-understood that “Mr. Light” would be the new single. This comes on 15 June together with the clip that was shot in New York. (A real supervette clip is in store for you!)
Then still other personal news: Bertolf moved and now has two bedrooms upstairs and a balcony – complete progress, he says.
