The Junes were a band consisting of Bertolf (vocals, guitar); Albert Verbeek (guitar, vocals); Chris Verbeek (keyboards); Rutger Renden (bass); Rutger Hoorn (drums).

In 2005 they won several prizes: they won The AMP Battle of the Bands in The Melkweg, Amsterdam, and won "Best Song Competition" on Ongekend Talent. 4 Junes-songs(When the rain starts, She's my world, Not bringing me down and No-one) starred in the Dutch movie called Afblijven, which was the most succesfull youth-movie ever in Holland. The Junes did supports for The Posies, BLOF, Ilse DeLange and The Sheer. The song "For Life" was picked Serious Talent-song on Dutch radiostation 3FM, and got frequent airplay.
In October 2007, they announced that they had disbanded due to the members having other musical interests that they wanted to pursue that left little time for the Junes. "The Junes have no quarrel," the final MySpace blog states, and the announcement ended with:
And in the end
The love you take
is equal to the love
you make
It must have been a sad announcement for a lot of fans, but they ended their run having made a lot of great songs, and it appears that the band finished on good terms with each other. They even performed together in a final concert on Sunday 21 October 2007 at De Singel in Zwolle, the bar where they had begun five years earlier.
